The man at the center of the meltdown has been identified as John Cianci of Mercer County, who reportedly lost control after being cut off from alcohol at the reception. According to a criminal complaint, Cianci grew “extremely angry and violent” in a booze-fueled tantrum that ended with him allegedly landing a “round house style” punch right on the bride’s face. Imagine standing in your wedding gown, surrounded by family and friends, only to be literally knocked to the ground on what’s supposed to be the happiest night of your life.

Sadly, the drama didn’t stop there. Witnesses say Cianci’s outburst quickly spiraled. After allegedly striking the bride, he turned on other guests who tried to calm him down, throwing punches at three more people. What should’ve been a magical evening of cake-cutting and dance-floor fun became a full-blown brawl, leaving injuries and stunned guests in its wake.
Police say the incident created “public inconvenience, annoyance, and alarm” for everyone at the event. Translation? Meanwhile, the whole vibe of the wedding went down the drain thanks to one man who couldn’t handle being told “no” at the bar.
Cianci didn’t just ruin the party, he also racked up a lengthy list of charges. He’s now facing four counts of simple assault, four counts of disorderly conduct, four counts of harassment, and one count of public drunkenness. He’s out on $5,000 bail while he waits for his next court date.
It’s hard not to feel for the bride here. Weddings already come with enough stress without having to worry about a drunken guest throwing punches. And of all the people in the room to hit, the bride? That’s next-level disastrous.
