Is Pete Davidson Leaving ‘SNL’ Because Of Kim Kardashian?

Pete Davidson became a household name when he joined the cast of “Saturday Night Live” in 2014. Since that time, the comedian has become a huge fan favorite on the show. Davidson’s comedy act, as well as his movie and TV career, have also taken off since being cast on “SNL.”

This week, news broke that Davidson was planning to leave “Saturday Night Live” following the season finale this weekend. According to Variety, Davidson isn’t the only comedian who’s leaving the series. Other “SNL” vets, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant and Kyle Mooney are also said to be exiting the show. However, Davidson has not confirmed his exit.

Pete Davidson is reportedly leaving ‘SNL’ following this weekend’s season finale

Davidson has been open about the possibility of leaving the comedy series in the past (via People Magazine). In 2020, “The Dirt” actor told Charlamagne Tha God he’s been debating when to leave.

“I have conversations with a lot of people [about leaving],” he said. “It’s a hard thing to do, because you don’t want to ever pull the trigger too early. Everybody’s always been like, ‘You’ll know when you know and it’ll all be all right.'”

Davidson’s fans were stunned by the news of his alleged “Saturday Night Live” departure. Some fans are now blaming the actor’s romance with Kim Kardashian as the reason for his decision, per The Sun. Davidson may want to spend more time in Los Angeles with Kardashian, or simply be looking to move on in his career. However, some fans believe that the Kardashian Curse could be to blame.

“Are we starting to see the Kardashian Curse hit Pete? Hate to see his career get screwed over by a bad date,” one person tweeted. “He’s been marginally funny as of late. Looks like the Kardashian Curse is real!” another wrote.

What is the Kardashian Curse?

For those who don’t know, the Kardashian Curse has been a theory among some fans for years. The curse allegedly states that any man who dates a member of the Kardashian family has some bad luck in their life, especially with their career and/or health.

Some men who have been thought to be the victims of the curse include Lamar Odom, Reggie Bush, Scott Disick, Tristan Thompson, Travis Scott, Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner), Ben Simmons, Kris Humphries, and Tyga, per Marca.

Of course, the famous family has denied the rumors of a curse, claiming that many of the men in their lives simply can’t handle their fame and business success.
