California Man Attempts To Get In His Car Only To Find An Unhinged Woman Occupying The Back Seat: ‘Looks So Scary’
Forgetting to lock your car is one of those mistakes most people make at least once. Usually, the worst-case scenario is finding your glove compartment open or realizing someone rummaged through your stuff. But one California man says his simple oversight turned into something far stranger than he ever expected.
According to the man, he had been unloading items from his vehicle the day before and apparently forgot to lock it afterward. When he returned the following day, he walked up to what he believed was his car only to discover a woman already sitting inside.
For a split second, he reportedly wondered if he’d somehow approached the wrong vehicle. But after spotting his own belongings still inside, it became obvious that he was exactly where he was supposed to be. Instead of leaving when confronted, the woman allegedly doubled down.
California Man Forgets To Lock His Car And Pays The Price
Video from the encounter shows the man asking her to exit the vehicle, but she reportedly responds by telling him to get inside and start the car instead. When he insists that the vehicle belongs to him, the confrontation quickly becomes even more bizarre.
The woman reaches for a golf club that was apparently sitting in the backseat and begins acting aggressively while continuing to insist that the car isn’t his. At one point, she reportedly tells him, “It’s not your [expletive] car,” before ordering him once again to get inside and start it.
The footage cuts off before showing exactly how everything ended, leaving plenty of viewers wondering how the tense standoff was ultimately resolved. In a follow-up explanation, the California man shared additional details about what allegedly happened after the recording stopped.
Rather than physically confronting the woman, he used his key fob to activate the vehicle’s alarm, causing the horn to blast repeatedly. According to him, that finally convinced the woman to leave.
He also explained why he chose not to contact law enforcement immediately, saying he didn’t view the situation as an active life-threatening emergency and believed police response times could take anywhere from one to two hours.
Not Your Typical Day
Thankfully, he says very little was actually taken. Aside from a missing pair of sunglasses, his belongings remained intact. He was also able to recover the golf club the woman had been holding during the confrontation.
There was, however, one lingering consequence he couldn’t avoid. According to the man, after the woman left, the inside of the vehicle had an unpleasant odor that certainly wasn’t there before.
The unusual encounter has attracted plenty of attention online, with many viewers saying it serves as a reminder to always double-check that your car is locked before walking away. Others were simply stunned by the surreal nature of the video, with the image of someone confidently sitting in another person’s vehicle—and insisting it belongs to them—feeling almost too bizarre to believe.
“Those boots were not made for walking,” one person joked of the woman’s shoes. “There’s so much to unpack here,” said another. “Looks so scary,” a third person chimed in.
Still, if the man’s account is accurate, it’s likely one California resident won’t be forgetting to hit the lock button again anytime soon.
