Elvis Presley: Priscilla Presley Admits Elvis Was The Love of Her Life

Elvis Presley has been gone for nearly five decades. However, he continues to be loved and adored by millions of women worldwide. But, only one woman was fortunate enough to become his wife.

Elvis Presley and Priscilla’s marriage only lasted for six years. But Priscilla claims that Elvis was the love of her life. She admits that even though the couple divorced, she never stopped loving the King of Rock and Roll.

She admits that even during their divorce, they sat together inside the courtroom holding hands. Priscilla reveals that she initiated the divorce from Elvis, but even so, he has always remained the only man she has ever truly loved.

The 77-year-old Priscilla reveals that she is pleased with the new Elvis biopic film. Presley states that she and her daughter Lisa Marie Presley are thrilled with the way the film portrays the late King’s true essence.

Priscilla also reveals that she feels that Elvis would have also loved the film. Per Radar Online, the former Mrs. Presley also claims that the film brings back many memories. Some are beautiful, and some are painful to relive.

Elvis Presley’s Ex-Wife Priscilla Looks Back On Her Memories

Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s love affair began when she was 14. She said she was hooked after her first meeting with the singer. They married seven years later when she was 21. However, she admits she had a tough time adjusting to and accepting Elvis’s lifestyle.

She states that by 1972 she has had enough and she grew tired of Elvis’s obsessions. Priscilla also says no matter how hard she tried, she could not stop his downward spiral. Regardless, she never stopped loving him.

After their divorce, Elvis dated many women, yet he could never find a woman he loved as deeply as he loved Priscilla. She reveals that everything was always his way when you were a part of Elvis’ life.

“You lived his life,” she said. “Saw the movies he wanted to see. You listened to the music he listened to.” His management extended to her clothes and how she wore her hair. “He was very opinionated, [saying things like] ‘I don’t like you in that color. Brown isn’t good on you,'” Priscilla recalled. “I couldn’t wear trousers for ages. Or wear prints or stripes. I had to wear solids.”

Priscilla Presley reveals that she was in a challenging situation. “Elvis had told me at a young age, ‘What you see here you don’t share with anybody.'” That became especially difficult when she witnessed Elvis’ friends being unfaithful.

“[The wives] would say I was quite cool in my relations with them,” she recalled. “I knew things that I was so afraid I’d reveal. I didn’t want to be in that situation.”

It All Became Too Much For Priscilla

She also says that she was always concerned about Elvis’ drug use. Priscilla reveals the worry she felt over the drug use that was consuming Elvis’ life. She reveals that she became frightened as Elvis began experiencing uncontrollable mood swings.

Priscilla reveals speaking to others close to Elvis about her fears. However, the others were ignoring her protests about drugs. When she finally understood that things would never change, she knew it was time for her to leave.

In the years following their divorce, she claims they spoke often. However, she painfully recalls their last conversation just a few days before his death. Priscilla reveals it is a conversation that she will never forget. She admits that she will always treasure her time with Elvis, describing their love as something unique that, for most, only happens once in a lifetime.
