Emperor Palpatine Star Wars

Here’s Where Emperor Palpatine Is During The Kenobi Show Timeline

Emperor Palpatine is an iconic “Star Wars” character. With the long-awaited release of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” finally upon us, there are a few questions that some fans may have about the timeline. This includes where some characters in the universe, per ScreenRant.

First things first the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” storyline will take place 10 years after the events of Episode Three: Revenge Of The Sith” (via Games Radar). So the timeline is shaping up to be about 9 BBY which means “before the Battle Of Yavin”. The Battle Of Yavin takes place in Episode 4 A New Hope and is the battle in which the Rebel Alliance led by Luke Skywalker Destroys the first Deathstar.

Where is Emperor Palpatine in the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ timeline?

A very important question is where is Emperor Palpatine? Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious is a dark lord of the Sith who corrupted the young Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker in his rise to power as he reorganized the Galactic Republic into the first Galactic Empire in order to ensure security and continuing stability in the galaxy.

Where Sidious is exactly in the galaxy is a mystery but it is pretty safe to speculate that he is on Coruscant which is the Capital of the Empire and the Republic before it. Kenobi takes place in the early days of the Empire. Palpatine will have his hands full with securing systems that are still resisting the Empire and of course, any rouge Jedi that survived the dreaded order 66.

Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader in ‘Kenobi’

Darth Vader will also be making an appearance in “Kenobi” along with his Inquisitors whose sole purpose is to kill Jedi survivors. With the return of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to “Star Wars” fans who grew up with the prequel trilogy are getting a real treat as Hayden will be in the Vader suit and maybe even playing Anakin in Clone Wars flashbacks. It is a very important thing for “Star Wars” fans to see them unite again, especially after the train wreck that was the sequel trilogy that divided the fanbase in two.

In a way, this is Disney’s last chance to right the wrongs they created with the sequels. If they were to mess up a show like Kenobi that has been asked for and waited on for years it could be a final straw for most fans.

There are theories that the end of “Kenobi” could break the current cannon of the original trilogy that George Lucas created. Nothing is confirmed and we can all hope that that does not happen as it would ruin a lot of very important things from the originals.
